Interior Health

The BCCDC and Interior Health are partnering together on a pilot project to help facilitate access to Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for individuals living in and around Penticton, Nelson, Vernon, Kamloops, Kelowna, and Cranbrook who face barriers to accessing through local means. Eligible clients may be identified through PRICK test events or through local community partners such as HIM, Options for Sexual Health and CBRC.

The physician group at the BCCDC STI/HIV clinic will offer virtual health visits via Zoom to eligible individuals. Together with the local Health Outreach Nurse, Interior Heath Labs, Valley Medical Labs, and St. Paul’s Hospital Pharmacy, the team will offer assessment, all required and recommended testing, treatment for any positive STI results, and delivery of PrEP to a local pharmacy for client pickup.

The BCCDC STI clinic reception will book an appointment and a nurse will follow up on the phone to obtain consent for virtual care and to provide lab requisitions prior to the Zoom appointment with the physician.

For questions or to book an appointment call the BCCDC STI Clinic: 604-707-5600
